Steps in how we move pianos
First, we’ll find the best extraction route and ensure the walls, floors, and corners are safely protected. Then, we’ll lock or secure the keyboard lid, use bubble wrap to protect the paddles and ensure the whole instrument is covered to protect it from getting scratch or damaged.
If you have a baby grand or grand piano, our team will disassemble the legs, pack them separately and reattach them after the move. This is important because moving them with legs on could result in legs breaking during the transport. We’ll then load the piano, secure it in the truck, transport and unload it at the destination.
Our team will unpack it for you and place it in the room of your choosing. We can also assist you with moving the furniture to storage. Our service includes both short and long term storage solutions.

FAQ
Things that might concern you about moving pianos
Do you disassemble upright pianos when moving them?
No, we don’t. Pianos are quite delicate and have sensitive mechanisms that can only be tuned or tampered with by professionals. That’s why the only disassembly we do is detaching the legs of baby grand and grand pianos, to ensure safer and smoother relocation. We don’t tamper with the main part of the instrument.
What steps do you take to ensure my instrument isn’t damaged during the move?
First, we ensure that every part of your instrument is well-secured and properly protected with the high quality packing materials. Another thing that guarantees the safe relocation is the gear we use to move your piano. Finally we have the skilled movers that will ensure that in every situation the instrument gets handled with proper technique that won’t damage it in any way.
Do pianos need to get retuned after the move?
Considering that piano mechanisms are quite sensitive even the smoothest piano relocation can affect the tuning of your instrument. Therefore you might hear some changes in the sound after playing your instrument after the move. However, keep in mind that experts recommend waiting for piano to resettle around 3, to 4 weeks after moving before having them retuned.
Will my piano be insured when you move it?
Yes, it will. We have full insurance coverage and your instrument will be fully covered while in our care.
Can you move a piano to an apartment on hire floors?
Yes, we can. Even if your building has an elevator, in most cases the piano is too heavy or bulky to be transported in it. However, you don’t need to worry, we have the tools to safely move a piano up and down the stairs.
